To create a new bitmap in Tile Studio II, right-click on Bitmaps in your project and select New… Here you can set the bitmap size and the tile size.

In the bitmap window you can pick up or select a tile with the right mouse button and draw it again with the left mouse button. You can also select multiple tiles (also with the right button) to edit them at the same time.

If you hold down Ctrl while making a selection, that will become an animation area. To remove such an area, make the same selection again, also with Ctrl pressed.

These areas don’t really do anything but help you to easily select the next animation frame. You can use the menu for that: Tile, Animation, Next Frame or Previous Frame (or the keys Ctrl+Shift+Right and Ctrl+Shift+Left).

You can enable or disable the grid lines with Ctrl+G.
